All new member accounts are "activated" by email

As soon as you sign up we send a short message to the email address you provided as your username. This message contains a single-use activation link that only you can use to "turn on" your Project Birdie account.

Why do we do this?

To prove that you own the address you sign up with — this is important for several reasons:

1. All email addresses are unique, and virtually everyone has one
2. Using your email address for your username saves you from having to come up with a unique one like "JohnSmith789".
3. You don't want somebody else creating an account on Project Birdie (or any other website) with your email address. Neither would we.
4. We handle support and service notifications via email, however, we will never sell or share your email address.
