Project Birdie For People Who Golf

Project Birdie Help

If anything about Project Birdie is unclear, this is the first place to look.

Accounts are free for personal use, and we have a quick and easy signup form.

Account Activation

As soon as you signup we send an email to the address you provided as your username. This email contains an activation link that only you can use to "turn on" your account. Why do we do this? To prove that you own the address you signup with — this is important for two reasons:

  1. You wouldn't want somebody else creating an account on Project Birdie (or any other site) with your email address would you? Neither would we.
  2. We handle support and service notifications over email, however, we will never sell or share your email address.

Your email address is your username, and your password is set in one of the following ways:

  1. You choose your own at signup
  2. You can change your password when you are logged in, by using the password change form
  3. If you have forgotten your password, we will email you a new one

Courses

All of the courses entered by all users appear in the course list. They are grouped by country and state/province, but you can also search for courses in the search form.

My Rounds

All of your rounds are listed under the My Rounds section when you are logged in.

If you choose to share your rounds and practice log in your account preferences, visitors to the Project Birdie website can view your rounds and practice with the "Rounds By" and "Practice By" links for your nickname.

For example:

Tips For New Users

1. What to track on the course

Tees Played
Every course has different slope and rating for each set of tees. The tees are often identified by color on the scorecard.
Strokes
The total number of strokes you took on each hole.
Putts
Total strokes using your putter while on the green.
Fairways in regulation (FH)
For par-4 and par-5 only. If your first shot lands on the fairway you count one FH.
Greens in regulation (GIR)
If your ball stopped on the green on your (par - 2) shot, you got a green in regulation. There is one (1) possible GIR per hole.
Optional scorecard data
Putts, FH, and GIR are optional — but — we strongly recommend you keep track of these for every round: so you can see how different parts of your game are improving.

2. How to add a round

  1. Keep a copy of the scorecard from your round
  2. Find or Add the Course you played
  3. At every course you can Add a round
  4. Select/add the Tees that you played
  5. Enter your strokes, putts, etc for each hole
  6. Click save and you're done

3. What about mistakes?

While there is no undo button in golf, you can edit or delete any round you enter. Same for any practice log entries you make.

4. Statistics and reports

  • Project Birdie calculates and updates your handicap and more than 20 other statistics after every round you enter.
  • Once you have entered more than one round, a chart that displays trends in your game will appear on the My Rounds page.
